Summary
The project aims to provide support for the development of psychoanalytic practice in Bulgaria through 1) making theoretical training more accessible to present and prospective PIEE candidates; 2) involving more actively advanced candidates and members in the process of theoretical teaching; 3) making psychoanalytic theory and practice more intelligible and appealing to groups of health and social care professionals that can potentially become referrals and/or enter psychoanalytical training. The project envisages several coordinated activities: specialized theoretical seminars, public address lectures, dissemination of information and establishing mechanisms for referral.
The project has 3 main target groups: a) people already involved in psychoanalytic training (PIEE candidates and registered analysands), b) prospective candidates (e.g. psychology students, professionals from the mental health field) and c) other health and social care professionals that can potentially serve as referrals or become interested in psychoanalytical training themselves.
Duration: 2 years (January 1, 2009 – December 31, 2010)
For its 2-year period of duration, the project should increase by 50% the amount of people searching for analysis as well as the amount of people enrolled in psychoanalytical training.
